Hi guys! its good to join the club!

Lately, I am faced with a problem of my laptop's system clock slowing down to 12 AM in the month of April 2007.

I am unable to operate the net since the date and time issue prevents from starting any internet operations.

My comp is running on Windows 7 Home Basic and I have recently replaced the internal clock battery/cell but to no avail!

HELP!

When you replaced the CMOS battery did you reset the BIOS and also set the date in BIOS?

Hi John!

Yes I did reset the BIOS and the date and time after replacing the battery.

When you go back into BIOS, is the date still 2007? If it is, it's possible the battery is bad.

Take a look here and try changing the time server or see if one is set.
