clean system, no viruses,

usb devices work randomly, sometime will work, other times will not,

sometimes wen i plug a device in it says "usb device not recognized", then other times it will recognize the device and install it properly,

usb devices are

- mouse (always works)

- wireless d-link adapter

- printer

- usb flashdrive

i have used the USBDeview program and unistalled all devices that were used in the past and no longer needed,

i have had all the devices working perfectly a few times, but when i reboot the computer only the mouse continues to work, and the wireless adapter and flashdrives will not work,

it doesnt seem to matter which specific usb port i plug things into, i still get the same results

Did you uninstall the USB  controllers (should be at least 2 reflected under the USB category in Device Manager?

Don;t bother uninstalling anything other than the items marked "controller"...then reboot the system.  The controller drivers will reinstall automatically.

i went into device manager under "show hidden devices" and there were alot of greyed out USB devices, so i uninstalled them all, it seems to be fine now,
