Hi all,

I have a HP Compac nx7300, it blue screened and failed to restart got a message saying it was missing the OS, I ran a HDD Self test that I found on the bios menu, and that registered no errors.

I then got an XP disk and tried to reinstall, the setup runs fine untill it stalls on a file (which has been different both times) and then I get an error saying a file is corrupt. The first was iteraid.sys and the second was si3112r.sys

I am not too sure why this is happening. I assume it would either be a hdd failure or something wrong with the installation disk.
Could somewhere here give some advice?

Is the cd an ORIGINAL, retail version of XP or a copy?

EXACTLY how are you trying to install (repair install, clean install, etc).
