Running Win 7 Pro.  After entering my password, the screen goes dark except for the mouse cursor.  Ctrl/Alt/Del brings up normal screen and I can start Task Manager which shows that NO programs are running.  SFC /scannow says it could not fix some files.  I can use Task Manager to run msconfig. Nothing happens when I try to start explorer.exe.   Looks to me like there is no "desktop" running.  Starting in safe mode changes nothing.  Thanks for your help---
