Intel Itanium VS INTEL64

Assuming you had a current day (emphasis on "current day") Intel Itanium CPU and an INTEL64 CPU that were comparable in terms of clockrate, cache size, number of cores, etc, which would offer better peformance in a typical home user environment assuming that a native 64bit OS were used?
