Hello

My laptop is an Acer Aspire 5560G with 4gb ram, quad core processor and a 6-cell Li-Ion battery.

I've only had it for 1.2 years, but I need to replace the battery as occasionally it causes my laptop to shut down and heats up greatly when overcharged. This is probably the result of me using the laptop for gaming with sometimes resource intense games (I'm planning on curbing this and being more wary of overcharge etc. when I get a new battery).

After removing the battery, I got these details

AS10D81

10.8V

4.2Ah

I can't find a battery with these exact values of voltage and whatever Ah is (is it current, or something else?) and I'm wondering how much it actually matters if the values are slightly off, for example I've found one with 11.1 V and 4.4 Ah.

Can someone give me more information on this, and what else I should be looking out for in replacing a laptop battery?

Thanks for reading.

People recommend using a battery purchased from the computer maker. I bought a generic battery that was part numbered for my computer on ebay from a high rated seller and have never had a problem with it. Fit perfectly too and has a 3  year warranty. Maybe I dodged a bullet and am just lucky but my battery has been perfoming flawlessly for about a year.
