Please help :(

Not sure what happened but i noticed my computer getting laggy randomly when coming out of sleep mode to the point I had to restart. The restarting worked for a little while then I got a "boot critical file c:\windows\system32\drivers\ntfs.sys is corrupt". file repair failed error code 0*45d and now i can only get to Startup Repair and it fails every time and I cant get to safe mode with F8. I can get to command prompt but not sure what to do if anything. It wont let me system restore.

My guess...hdd is failing...that is the first thing you need to confirm. You can view what S.M.A.R.T has to say by using

a Linux Live CD, DVD or Flash drive. Do you have one? A Live Linux medium can be used to recover data if the hdd

is not bootable but is still readable.
