Can software be added to a tablet ? I am assuming either from online or with a thumb drive,since there is no CD/DVD in a tablet--?

Generally the Apps (software) are downloaded directly to the tablet from a "Store". For example Android Apps can be found in the Google Play store.

Aha- the same as my smartphone- I think i would rather have a laptop, it seems it would serve my purposes better1Thanks!
