First, it was not a clean install as I only have an upgrade disc and do not want to go through the phone activation method.  But with that said, I did install Windows into a separate folder saving no program or system files.  I cannot remember what this is called I just  know that it stripped Windows 7 down to where I had to reinstall any programs or browser that I wanted and made a Windows.old folder.  Firefox has been my favorite browser for a long time, but it slowed down.  During the reinstall of Win 7 I installed only IE 11 as reports show that it is faster these days.  Well, no different at all compared to Firefox.  Get a lot of Internet Explorer has stop responding" errors and it is so painfully slow that it reminds me of dialup on aol!  Bandwidth is good (avg 20 up and 3 down) and none to the other devices seem to be having any issues with being slow.  I have also tested with nothing else connected to the router other than this wired, but slow browser computer.  Please help.

PS. Is there a test that I can run to check the overall speed of my computer?

A slow computer can be caused by a lot of things, including bad toolbars and hard drive fragmentation. http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/t/87058/slow-computerbrowser-check-here-first;-it-may-not-be-malware/

You might want to wait for instructions from an experienced member of BC/

You seem to have both versions of Net Framework 2.0 installed.  I believe that you should only have one.

Ditto for Visual C++ 2008.

Your O/S is the 64-bit version.

Topic moved to Internal Hardware, appears to me that your hard drive is failing, reflects status of "Bad".

Not that I disagree as it does seem like the kind of issues when a hard drive is going bad, but where did you see that in the results I posted? If it is going bad and I wanted to replace the hard drive, what are my options with only an upgrade disc and my old Vista product key? From what I read the Vista key is no longer any good as I used an upgrade disc? Which options require an exact match to the original hard drive which likely cost more?
