Friends,

I've been unable to get my HP1522nf printer networked properly.  I can get it to function perfectly on the USB connected PC, but it won't print on any networked computers (installs but fails to print).

All computers are using Window 7 x64 and are in homegroup; file and printer sharing are enabled.  I've only used the most recent drivers.

Specifically, the glitch seems to be that I can get it to print on the network, but only without installing the (full solution) software that also allows scan capability.

I've also tried the HP Print and Scan doctor - no luck.

Desired end state:

1) print & scan on locally connected PC

2) print from any PC on the homegroup network

Current status:

1) print on local machine & network

2) print and scan on local machine only / no network printing capability

Thanks!

make sure all computers are in the same type of network for example: Home Network, Private network, Public network, check those settings under the network and sharing center.

OK - I checked those and all are good.

What is the IP Address of the printer and the computers?

I can't pull it by IP - there's no IP listed under the general tab and under "ports" it states the device is not configured for it.

You need to configure a port in the network where all computer will print to it.

When I try to configure the port, I get this error:  "An error occurred during port configuration.  This operation is not supported."

OK, figured it out.  I had to use the "print only" driver as opposed to the full function/full software solution driver from HP.  With this driver installed, you have to right click on the printer in order to scan rather than having the scan function available through the start menu/programs.

Furthermore, I went ahead an ordered a new printer since the HP 1522nf is several years old and is currently due for toner (plus it's had some other erratic behavior over the last year or so).

Hopefully, this model will give easier access and functionality through our home network:
