Hi, I am working on a hp 2000-299wm, It powers up but shows no sign of trying to boot, you can see the backlight is on but no os. Thanks for anyone that may know what's wrong.

I was thinking I may have a corrupt bios, will a fresh install cure this?

Well...;what makes you say that?

 

I mean...did you get some divine message stating that your BIOS is corrupt?  I'm sure that such might happen (corrupt BIOS) but I've never come across any such thing so I'd like to know what made you assert that opinion?
