I came from this thread. I am relatively new. I ran the program TreeSize and did what it told me to do in that thread regarding the TreeSize program. I found something a bit sketchy after running the program, that was talked about in that thread.

The thread mentioned that one of the reasons why someone would hack you would be so they can distribute materials using your computer. I will place the image of said section of the thread below this. I am very new at all of this so I'm sorry. I am not sure if I am hacked or if I have reason to suspicious of that folder. If I am either of those thing it brings up the question what do I do next? I am not sure what my next step would be. Thank you!

Hi,

Please go to the following link if you think you are infected.  The people there will give you help, but please give them time.  There are a bunch of US, and a few of THEM.  If there are any NON infection related questions please ask away.  If something I stated is unclear let me know.

Am I Infected?

Hope this helps, good luck.

Hello, I am worried that the folder may not be legitimate or something more malicious.

If you're running Windows 7 which I'm going to assume is the case here. The software distribution folder is where your Windows Updates are stored. See: SoftwareDistribution Folder Delete in Windows

There isn't anything nefarious going on with regards to the existence of that folder.

You're quite welcome. But as has been suggested. You may want to have someone in the Am I Infected forum verify that you don't have something else going on.

As animal said, the presence of this folder is normal. Also on Windows 8.
