I tried to do a clean install  with win 10 and it acted like it was installing and then put up an error message which

said  "CPU does not support PrefetchW". My processor is a P4 3.0GHZ processor.  Does that mean a lot of us will have

to buy new computers to run WIN 10??

Basically windows8 or windows 10 needs the system requirements like 1GB RAM and 1gigahertez processor with high speed, 500GB harddisk and Microsoft directix grapics card. I think your system will not suitable for win 10.

Where did you get that? My machine is 3.0 GHz with 4GB Ram and over 40GB of free space on a Sata drive .

I would check my processor and see if it qualifies for "PrefetchW" first.

System requirements As Quoted -
Basically, if your PC can run Windows 8.1, you’re good to go. If you're not sure, don't worry—Windows will check your system to make sure it can install the preview.

  • Processor: 1 gigahertz (GHz) or faster
  • RAM: 1 gigabyte (GB) (32-bit) or 2 GB (64-bit)
  • Free hard disk space: 16 GB
  • Graphics card: Microsoft DirectX 9 graphics device with WDDM driver
  • A Microsoft account (Genuine M/Soft installed) and Internet access

You can check to see if your PC meets the requirements for Windows 8 by running the Upgrade Assistant.

All from M/soft sites -

EDITED to check a link .......
