I just finished a web site for my wife and I was thinking of adding a 'Hit Counter", but I read where it is said that they are not the best thing to have today. It is said that they are infected with SPAM and so forth. Is this true and if so is there an alternative? Thank you!

I was also wondering if I could share her site here?

They aren't really "Infected with spam". Most of the time these counters do have some form of advertising tied to them, but it is usually just a link back to the website of whoever made that tracker. They are generally not recommended anymore because they generally look cheap/ugly on a website. You would be better off installing a PHP module to your site that keeps track of your visitors so that you access it on your own instead of it being available of public view. You can even use Google Analytics to keep track of it as well.

And you can share your site, you might want to put the site name separated by a space on the dot com, org, net part.

It will be here permanently

Thank you so much, my wife is very grateful.  The title of the website is El Shaddai Creations and Music. She does have a forum with a few categories.

I had a few issues with the mobile version overlapping on the display.

You may have the ability to adjust those items in your user dashboard

Thought that it was already adjusted for mobile. Would you know off hand what could be done?

I created an account there and tried to recreate the same issue.

I think it has to do with your picture size,

There is a shift/drag adjustment there.

Have you considered a free site at wordpress.com?

I used to use Sitemeter but they quit sending out weekly stats. I have since switched to StatCounter but I prefer the data on Sitemeter. Both are free and both have ads on them.
