I have been having the same problem for over 2 weeks. When ever I try to access my documents or or anything in windows explorer it will freeze and the only things I can do are use applications already open.

Here is my usual routine when this happens, I will be surfing the web in firefox, decide I would like to play some music, click the my documents folder, (if it does not freeze here, it will pause for a long time then show the content) then go for my music, and wham locked up. I can still use firefox fine and if I have MS Word or anything like that open works good but slower than usual.

When I open Windows Task Manager I can see that Explorer.exe is not responding
I can End Process and it will close the Start button bar and re-open with all my Applications but any folders will have been closed

I have ran my anti-virus scanner (AVG Free), spyware(SpyBot S&D, AdAware, and a couple others), registry repair tools and have had little luck. It was good for about one day the first time I ran the registry cleaner. I have done a system restore to about 2 months before the problem ever surfaced with no luck.

I had installed IE-7 on my computer around the same time and just went back to IE-6, I actually have not had the problem this session yet, so thats good new, but I thought I could post my log here and get some help. My computer has been running slow lately and I am looking into upgrades (ram and secong hard drive)
I would like to know my problem is solved and get rid of the ones I don't know about or that are getting ready to peek out any help would be much appreciated

Hi there and welcome to Bleeping Computer !
As you may have noticed already, the forums are very busy at the moment and i have noticed your log has gone unanswered so far!
We look at the oldest logs first, and we were wondering that if you still need help, please start by posting a new HijackThis log in this topic and i will then be able to take a look!
Thanks very much
David
