I have been having significant trouble opening/editing shared Word & PDF files.  I am able to create Word files with no problems, but when I try to open and edit files emailed to me from others, the formatting and spacing is removed and distorted.  The problem seems to occur in the downloading process.

Sorry, this was a trouble ticket that I received today. I just posted it here in hopes someone had seen this before. Hope someone can help.

Thanks.

Sounds like an issue with the template being used by the person creating the documents. Your user may have a different default template in Word, or the person who created the document has the "Automatically update document styles" box ticked in their Template and Add-ins configuration on their version of Word.

Are they using the same version of Word?  I've noticed when switching between different versions that require a the compatibility pack, and sometimes when going from a different word program that is compatible with word, that formatting can get mangled.
