Hi,

My brother recently bought a Bitdefender Total Security 2015 (up to 3 PCs , 1 year). I'm using a Dell Vostro Laptop running Windows 8.1 64 bit. I tried downloading the offline pack from their site but not able to install it. I ran the program and when I click on continue it crashes without any eroor notification. I uninstalled my old antivirus, though McAffe AntiTheft is not getting uninstalled.

If anyone has faced this before or has any experience please share it here.

Regards

Did you follow these instructions: How to install Bitdefender 2015 using the offline installation kit?

Another possibility is that the download may have been corrupted...this has happened to me before especially with larger downloads. Try redownloading.

Revo Uninstaller is good at removing hard to remove programs and leftovers. McAfee has an uninstaller, too.

Were you experiencing any possible signs of malware before attempting to install Bit Defender?

Download Revo Uninstaller Freeware - Free and Full Download - Uninstall software, remove programs, solve uninstall problems

McAfee Removal Tool - McAfee Uninstaller

Use CCleaner to cleanup temporary files, logs, cookies, caches, etc. Pay close attention while installing and UNcheck offers of toolbars

such as Google. No need to use Registry Cleaner tool....risky. Use the default settings. Once installed simply open and click on

the button at bottom right to run cleaner.

Hi,

I downloaded an uninstaller called Perfect Uninstaller. With this I had to Force uninstall McAfee Anti Theft. Only after that I was able to install the AV. Not only that I also had to delete some files of McAfee from the registry. So, now its successfully working.

Thank you for your help guys.

Regards.
