I want to burn dvds from you tube or other videos that are on the pc.   I am not sure if my dvd burner is working.  Is there a software that is not too hard to use?  I am new at this.

Try ImgBurn. It's free and can be used to burn data to CD/DVDs.

You can also install the Windows Movie Maker . Its free and you can use most video formats. This way you can also edit it and make it, edit it and burn it so it will be playable in any dvd player.

"Audacity sourceforge net" provide a downloadable editor that can rip audio from YouTube clips - for completists and creative types, FYI.
