I am using windows 8 so I hope this is the right forum.   I would like to set Goggle as my default browser.  Can someone send very clear instructions on how to do this?  Every time I want to use Google I have to enter it in the search field.

thanks.

Click Menu button, choose Options. Under the Search tab, choose Google as your default search engine from the drop down list. Save and exit out of it and see if it worked.

Thanks.  I added AVG secure search and now I can't change the default browser.  If I reset Firefox I assume that I have to save my bookmarks?

Resetting browser settings is not reversible. After a reset, all previous settings are lost and cannot be recovered. All add-ons and customizations are deleted, and you basically start with a fresh version of your browser.

Export Firefox bookmarks to an HTML file to back up or transfer bookmarks
Backing up and restoring bookmarks - Firefox
Restore bookmarks from backup or move them to another computer

Use Ausogics Browser Care tool. Change the search engine for any browser you want.

The only problem with using tools like that to do all the work...is the user never learns anything.

I am new to this but from my past experience with Google I wouldn't use them as a default browser. Next thing you know you won't be able to search things properly and you'll figure out on your own that you're getting tracked by Google and other pages that have no right. It messes with your whole computer. Even though it is your own call on this matter. I appreciate the time you took to read my comment if you did.

Have a great day and thank you to all who uses Bleeping Computer  :bananas:
