How do I stop the unsolicited audio from running in the background when I go to a website. Malware Bytes finds nothing. Where did it come from (so I don't get it again)?

moved from Audio & Video to Am I Infected, therefore you do not need to start a new topic.

You are probably infected and you should post on Am I Infected.

Does this happen only on one particular website? If so it maybe audio ads playing in the background and not an infection. You can try installing Adblock Plus on your browser which will block all kinds of ads, banners, popups etc. If it occurs on other websites as well, you may have some adwares on your machine. If you think it's an adware, download and run Adwcleaner.
