Hello, I'm new to this forum, and was hoping someone might be able to help me out. I just started university studying animation and technical art, and I need a capable laptop for completing homework projects.
My budget for this computer is $800.00.
The main use for it will be 3D art and animation, as well as some programming.
The software I anticipate I will be using is Maya, Photoshop, Visual Studio and Renderman.
I play games, particularly games made by Valve Software.
I tend to have a lot of smaller programs running at once.
I do not tend to store a lot of images or music on my computer, however rendering a scene can generate hundreds of images.
I do not know if I will be overclocking.
I prefer to shop at Amazon or Newegg.
I do not plan to use any additional monitors.
I would prefer Windows 7 over Windows 8, if that's possible.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have found some pretty powerful machines with dedicated graphics which should serve your purpose:

Acer Aspire

Asus E4
