Hey all,

So in my panic when I was removing my trovi browser hijacker, I didn't do enough research and downloaded cloudsystembooster by anvisoft. I uninstalled it after using it once and read reviews which seemed to be faked. Is this a dangerous program and should I be worried about it?

I have gone into the registry and removed anything related to "cloud system booster" and "anvisoft". I also deleted all related folders and hidden folders. I am worried about this program installing rootkits or some other malicious files that could be tracking my stuff or causing harm to my computer. If there are anyways to make sure all these files are gone that would be of great help. Is this program dangerous? I can't seem to find credible reviews/articles either.

...I am worried about this program installing rootkits or some other malicious files that could be tracking my stuff or causing harm to my computer.

No need to worry about that...it is not a malicious program.

Cloud System Booster by Anvisoft is an all-in-one PC repair/optimizing tool with registry cleaning capability based on cloud technology. It purports to clean junk data, Windows registry, and unneeded Windows files. The optimization and performance improvement claims made by such software vendors are borderline scams. There is no statistical evidence to back such claims. Advertisements to do so are a marketing ploy intended to goad users into using an unnecessary and potential dangerous product. I would not trust any results the program detects as problematic or needing repair nor recommend using the options to fix them.

Further, these types of junk optimization programs are often considered Potentially Unwanted Programs (PUPs) so they may be detected or even removed by some security scanners which specifically look for PUPs and adware.

Bleeping Computer DOES NOT recommend the use of registry cleaners/optimizers for several reasons.
Why you should not use Registry Cleaners and Optimization Tools

Be sure to read Microsoft's support policy for the use of registry cleaning utilities in that topic...Microsoft does not support the use of registry cleaners.
