Welcome to Bleeping Computer.

It would help if you explain with a little more detail.  Like what password you are referring to, Windows 8/8.1 passwore, BIOS password.

If you are getting an error message please post this exactly as it appears.

If you forgot you Windows 8 password, easiest procedure would be to boot of installation DVD, start Repair with CMD window. Replace utilman.exe from system32 with CMD.exe. After that procedure you boot to Windows, by pressing Ease of Access center icon in bottom left, you will have access to eleveted CMD window with admin privilege. Activate administrator account, restart PC, login with Administrator then you can change other user password or what ever you need. Don't forget to undo file replacing after you finish.
