Built a new system using the Asus Maximus VII Hero...... everything was working fine but then suddenly not so. New graphical bios is confusing to an old fart like me, perhaps I clicked on something I should't have but I can't get back into the BIOS to try to correct things.  Keyboard lights up as it should, tried contacting Asus tech support but they weren't much help with the issue. I cleared the CMOS and  took out the battery to try to get back to a starting point to no avail.  I've never seen anyhting like this before when building a system.

I'm looking for some new suggestions on what to try.

Dick ...... Thanks for answering. I tried that to no avail.

Then I did something rather unique, I pulled out all the other USB devices and low and behold that worked!!!!!

Talk about a gigantic brain fart... It's been about 3 years since I've built a PC and forgot some of the basic principles of building, take your time don't plug everyhting in at once.

Then I guess it would be inappropriate for me to mention the other basic "RTFM"?

Keep us posted

Thing is I did read the manual, but I got ahead of myself and likely too anxious to get the job overwith......

Been there, done that and have had to go back and start again. Maybe some day I'll learn.

To quote the late Robert Heinlein, from 'The Moon is a Harsh Mistress' (I think) -

"Papa Hegel, he say 'The only thing we learn from history is that we learn nothing from history' "

Haven't we all been there, done that, and got the scars !

Great quote, I love Heinlein. best sci fi writer of all time.  I'd fancy myself being like Lazerus Long, in Time Enough For Love.... In my opinion the quinticential sci fi novel of all time.
