"Best" is subjective in my book.  I use Video DownloadHelper which is a Firefox addon.

You don't need software, many websites offer services to download video (mostly from youtube but thye often work for other stes aswell). Alos i believe VLC media player has the ability to download videos from sites. When visiting websites to download vido make sure your pop-up blocker and adblocker are good, such sites are supported by adverts and pop-ups are pretty common on that sort of page.
Back on this site, for a while anyway, been so busy the last year.

My systems:2 laptops, intel i3 processors, windows 8.1 installed on the hard-drive and linux mint 17.3 MATE installed to USB

I use the Firefox extension Easy Video Downloader because it works on all videos, not just Youtube.

Hey WahMed,

There are many selections for downloading video.  An example of free/donation and easy to use software is:

    FreeMake YouTubeDownloader - http://www.freemake.com/free_video_downloader/

    FreeMake VideoConverter  http://www.freemake.com/free_video_converter/

    FreeYouTube to MP3 - http://www.freemake.com/free_youtube_converter/

     FreeMake AudioConverter - http://www.freemake.com/free_audio_converter/

                                                                               Hope that helps!

                                                                               Vlady

Search through www.bing.com - there's a dozen of 'em. Starting from savefrom.net, a great free online service.

this is a review I found for free make

User reviews

"It works great but contains spyware"

I installed the Freemake Video Downloader, Video Converter and YouTube Mp3 Converter within a sandbox

environment (Windows Vista/Sandboxie).

Installation was done as a custom install and as such preventing the embedded browser toolbars to install.

The programs work flawlesly.

But as other users already noticed, winPcap was also installed (why?)

Futhermore when starting one of these programs connect to:

(detected by using Wireshark)

www.freemake.com

crl.omniroot.com

centrevoc.vo.msecnd

ocsp2.globalsign.com

ocsp.comodoca.com

productionbalancer-694851695.us-east-1.elb.amazonaws.com

ocsp.verisign.com

Conclusion: these programs contain spyware.

Forget free, no such thing

I have been conversing with ISKYSOFT down loader folks and so far they seem to be adults, and it is FREE

FREE of bugs i mean, ask for a discount by e mail then its 17 bucks and free of bugs
