I want to buy an external Hard drive for win 8. Now this win is installedthrough bootcamp in mac . Should I buy mac external HD to increase windows space? I am guessing just any windows PC format HD will do?

HDD is HDD only that matters is how you format partitions on drive to be readable on your operating system.
