Hello everyone,

I've been having troubles over the past months with my computer.

This is my computer:
i5-3330
Geforce gtx 550 ti
Asus p8p67 motherboard
8 Go ddr3 corsair RAM
Corsair CX600 psu

My problem is always the same. The computer will freeze randomly (mouse locks, cant do anything) and then the computer shuts down by itself after 2 minutes.
After a few crashes, the computer wont even start bios anymore.

So far I've changed the hard disk, and the computer worked fine for like 2 months before restarting to crash. Then, I changed the ram, which also made my computer run fine for a few weeks only. Then, I changed the psu, which also made my compter work fine for a few weeks only.

Now, All I havent changed really is the motherboard, the cpu and the gpu. Which one do you guys would change next to attempt to solve my problem? Or any help would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome,

Have you checked what the temperatures are for the CPU and GPU?

This is a good place to start

http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/speccy/

If there is a temperature problem a fan might be the solution rather than more new hardware.

What is your security program? Current and scans running often and clean?

Any other indications that things aren't all that they should be?

Keep us posted

Dick

I have bit defender (free edition) for scans and to keep my computer clean, think I should go for something else?

I do have speccy and check temperatures regularly, the CPU never seem to go above 55 C and the gpu 70 C max. However, it's hard to tell what are the exact temperature on the moment of the crash. What makes me think its not overheating is that it can sometimes crash just a few minutes after opening the computer and not doing anything significant.

For the moment, I just re-installed my windows and we'll see how it goes, haven't had a crash yet.

I'm gonna try to run a game in windowed mode with speccy opened so I'll really see if its a temperature issue. I'll keep you updated.

Hello everyone,

My computer had been running fine for a few weeks, after the windows 7 clean install and BIOS updates, but it crashed again yesterday after a long day of gaming.

Just to recapitulate, my crashes have been occuring for almost a year now. I tried changing the PSU, RAM and hard drive, to no avail.

Yesterday, after my computer crashed, I had to wait a while before my computer even booted to BIOS. When I booted it right after the crash, the fans would spin and the computer would light up, but it did not get to BIOS.

EDIT: I'm at the point where I think changing my motherboard might be a solution. Can you guys recommend me any motherboards that would be compatible? I was looking maybe at the Asus P8H77-V LGA 1155, or any suggestions?
