Hello Everyone!

First off ... I am computer stupid ... but willing to learn!

I have Symantec Endpoint on my laptop.  The past couple days I've been getting alerts about a Swifi Trojan being quarantined ... not deleted.  Plus my browser seemed hijacked or something??  Groovino ?? Screens were popping up like crazy.

I ran full system scans with my Symantec Endpoint and Malware Bytes.  Nothing came up.

So I re-ran both in SAFE MODE w/Network ??

The Malware Bytes came up with 1200+ objects but I didn't know what to do with them.  The Symantec came up with nothing at all.

Today I asked my brilliant nephew what to do.  He told me to come HERE and download and run AdwCleaner ... which I did.  Then I re-installed Adobe Flashplayer like he said.

Everything seemed fine for a couple hours.  Then it came back again ... so I re-ran the AdwCleaner.

All was fine ... AGAIN.

... but now it's back!!

Am I doing something wrong?  I was afraid to try anything else on my own for fear I may make things worse.  And my poor nephew is working and I can't bug him there.

Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated!

Many, many thanks!!

I'm back.  I think I may have fixed my problem.  I re-ran Symantec Endpoint in Safe Mode w/Networking and was able to delete the entries in Quarantine.  I also re-run Malware Bytes the same way.  Third ... I ran my Spybot tools - The Start-up List showed that Groovinio thing in the Start up Menu ... so I deleted it.

I read somewhere that you should run these apps until they come clear at least twice.  So I re-ran all three twice ... restarting my machine each time.  All came clear.

I've been working/playing online for a couple hours now and no alerts!!  Hooray!  I'll stop back if the problem resurfaces.

Thanks anyway!
