Just used this to merge my empty partition with my main one. I had set aside a whole morning to wrangle it and it took like 30 minutes tops. This a newly installed Windows 7 PC, however so not alot of data to worry about. And the instructions were less dense than I thought they were going to be. Will definitely give this a good rating on Softpedia. Anyone use their backup software on frequent basis?

Windows 7 has a very good backup program. It is a smaller version of Acronis. If that is what you are asking about.

Best to create a complete image of the hdd on a new install after getting all the updates and programs installed. For the

home user I suggest doing that at least every month. Saves a lot of time on a reinstall due to a hardware or software problem

or some serious type of malware such as one of those that encrypt. Store the image in a drive that is not constantly connected to

the computer.

Suggest that you scan for adware after downloading any free program. Use the programs below.

Malwarebytes Anti-Malware Free

Free Virus Scan | Online Virus Scanner from ESET

AdwCleaner Download

Junkware Removal Tool Download

Got all that, just wondering about other products in case something borks on me. It's happened before.  <_< Using Windows Vista for any amount of time and the last couple of bad updates makes you paranoid about how well the built-in tools are working. Two years ago I was pretty confident in Windows 7's stability but nowadays not so much.

This one is popular. Macrium Reflect FREE Edition - Information and download

I use another version of Acronis from Seagate....DiscWizard | Seagate

WD uses Acronis, too.
