Hello folks,

I'm afraid this may be duplicating my post since I do not see my post in this forum and I cannot remember (really) anything about where I posted it this morning about 01:30.

I've been using FP for years without major difficulty on Firefox (FF), but in the last week or so, even when happily viewing video clips requiring FP, I was nagged incessantly to d/l a fresh copy of FP.

My problem is, despite many re-downloads, I cannot install Flash Player (FP) further than its Installer Screen, which remains blank and is very difficult to kill.

My PC runs Win7 Ultimate, 64 bit, with all programs up-to-date, and the only change effected in the last month was a silent FF update.

Any help would be very gratefully received,

mgb

Flash on Firefox is an addon, not a separate program. So you should maybe delete the addon and then re-add it.

Hello folks,

Thanks for your replies. Since two of you are in agreement I'm very optimistic that you have cracked it for me.

I'll try as you suggest and get back to you.

Noknojon, tragic news about young Hughes today.

OK, tried your suggestions, and when I tried to clean out Flash Player (as per Adobe link provided by Noknojon) the b****y Uninstaller screen froze in exactly the same way. So, I hope you can come up with some other solution, please.

Regards,

mgb

I'll answer that. Unless you play a lot of games, you don't need Java.

....while I am here....

Open flash player in control panel....go to Advanced >>> Browser data and Settings>>,....and click on Delete All

The standard uninstaller for flash is HERE

Reboot

Be sure to verify that flash is uninstalled...  HERE

Reinstall from HERE    (Untick the Optional Offer )

Let me know how that went for you.

Hiya Condobloke,

Thank very much for your suggestion (very nicely step-by-step) - unfortunately, no luck. I keep arriving at the same blank Installer screen (and swearing like an Aussie rugby fan yesterday). :bananas: :clapping: :)

I'm beginning to think there is something fundamentally wrong with my Win7 installation (various little anomalies are occurring).

Thanks mate,

mgb

Assuming the Flash installer is on your desktop.....right click and select run as administrator....and then proceed as you normally would.....

Condobloke,

THANK YOU!!! A few more shots-in-the-dark-perfect bull's eyes like that will do me every time. The adobe web site forum led me to a perfect solution to their cockup release of Flash Player/ So I'm a very happy camper now!!!

Thanks again,

mgb
