Tried to activate the Turn Windows Features on or off  from Control Panel (going into Programs) but it comes up with a blank box.

Any suggestions as to how to turn the features on please?

Reboot, and then try going back to Turn Windows Features on or off, and wait 10 minutes (or an hour) to see if the box stays blank. I just tried it and it said 'please wait' for more than a minute before finally showing the features. If your system is very slow it could take a long time I bet.

Thank you for this suggestion which I am going to try. I did leave it for about 15 minutes yesterday but will leave longer as you suggest.
