I have a USB drive I use a s backup. There is a Recycle bin folder I want to delete. I am told it is shared so cannot delete. This folder was created back in 2010 on a previous pc.

I have just changed my backup software settings to delete all folders on target drive that are not on source drive; the software gives me this error because it cannot delete the folder.

Why cannot I as Administrator just delete this?

Any advice please?

Found the answer; changed the ownership of drive then removed "Unknown Contact" then deleted.
