booting problem

i have a Toshiba laptop that just won't boot,it shot its self while i was working on it,even worst the computer won't receive current from the charger.charger light does not go on.

Remove the battery, now try the adapter.

And if that doesn't work, then take out the battery, unplug the adapter, press and hold the power button for 30 seconds, plug the adapter back in (but do not put the battery in), turn it on, turn it off, put battery back in.
