Hey Cindy, you around :) [or anyone else], I can't find the correct wireless drive for this windows 7 64-bit machine on dell's site here:

I searched the net, came across this thread:

which suggested to download a driver and gave the link but that driver is not working so in that thread it was suggested to download it direct from the main site here:

but I am having trouble figuring out exactly which driver on that page, help please?

Hi

Wireless drivers are available from Dell for your Dell Inspiron One 2320

http://www.dell.com/support/home/us/en/19/product-support/product/inspiron-one-2320/drivers

Depending on the Wireless adapter installed in your system you will choose either the 1502 or the 1702.

If your system has Bluetooth, most likely it is the 1702.

You can check the System Setup Program by pressing <F2> on boot to see if the BIOS specifies the Wireless Device in your system.

Another option is, to click the System Configuration link and enter your service tag number . This will  bring up the Original System Configuration for your system listing part numbers and descriptions for the components installed.

If 1502 download: Atheros Wireless 1502 WLAN Mini Card Desktops, v.3.0.0.238, A00 R305630.exe

If 1702 download: Atheros Wireless 1702 WLAN&BT Combo Mini Card Desktops, v.3.0.0.328, A00 R305632.exe

Best of luck and Please keep BC posted!

The Dell Support website the first link takes you to, did you use the System Analysis?

If you go to the driver selections and click on Network (5 files), the DW1702 Wifi&BT wireless combo card customer installation software is the driver you want.

Family and loved ones will always be a priority in my daily life.  You never know when one will leave you.

The system analysis is not working. I had initially tried that driver but it is not working.

Right click the wireless device in Device Manager. Properties > Details tab > HardwareID's in the dropdown box. Copy and paste the first line of text.

Is this the one you downloaded from dell? You have the 1702 driver.

Doesn't look like it, please see screenshot, I had tried all 4 drivers listed on the dell page and the one I guess we're referring to is this one?

Atheros Wireless 1702 WLAN&BT Combo Mini Card Desktops, v.3.0.0.328, A00 View details

R305632.exe | Hard-Drive (17 MB)

but looking at the one in your link, the file name shows R312222.exe, is this a different one?

Yes it is and it's 132MB. Download and see if it works for you. I think it will.  It supports Win 7 64bit.

Version 9.2.0.412, A03

Ok, will try it in a few and get back to you, meantime, can I ask for my learning experience how/why you came to that driver please?

Well, I thought I got it from the 2320 support site but I guess I googled dell 1702 wireless windows 64 bit and came up with a later driver. If it does not work, I can try to find one from the atheros.cz site but I think this driver is dell specific. I will have to look through some of the inf files for the vendor and device ID so it may take awhile.

YES, that works, appreciate the help! So if I understand this correctly, because the one on the dell site did not work, that's why you typed the search on google to see if there was an alternate driver?

I just tried to find a later driver by googling Dell 1702 Windows 7 64bit. I guess I was just lucky to find a later version. In fact the model number you have isn't even listed on the page.
