I have a Motorola Elite Flip that I can not get to recieve the computer Audio.

Steps taken to pair device:

1) start menu > type add

2) choose add a bluetooth device

3) computer sees the elite flip device

4) I click next

5) moto flip annouces that it is paired.

6) computer attempts to install drivers (installs "Bluetooth AV", "Bluetooth Hands-free", "Bluetooth Remote Control", "Not supported Bluetooth Function"... misses on "Bluetooth Peripheral Device")

7) Device shows up in Devices and Printers

troubleshooting steps

1) update drivers

  a) in "Devices and Printers", right click on elite flip, choose properties

  B) "Device Status" shows "The Drivers for this device are not installed. (code 28)"

  c) choose properties (also ran a varioation of these instructions chooseing "Change settings" before I passed this step.)

  d) choose update driver

  e) choose next

  f) got "Windows was not able to install your bluetooth device"

According to some other findings I saw some variations talking about right clicking the elite flip device and selecting services (inside the "Devices and Printers" area.  In this case I do have a services option listed in the context menu that appears.

I have also thought about trying to find the driver manually, but the "Hardware ID" in the drivers property dialog is VERY generic("BTHENUM\{12345678-1234-5678-1234-567812345678}_VID&0001000f_PID&0000" & "BTHENUM\{12345678-1234-5678-1234-567812345678}_LOCALMFG&000f")and I dont think I would get any hits off of it.

I have done a generic search for drivers, to no avail.  (I dont do the drivers services exes.  had too many of them in the past that masquerade as such and are largely spyware).

I dont know enough about the driver detection method used in bluetooth, but I have a feeling that it uses actual generic drivers for all known bluetooth services.  The drivers just check to see if the device supports them.  This would most likely be progrmatically implemented by a windows side service for each function.  That windows side service would communicate to the device with a standard communications protocol to carry the data across. (that is just speculation on my part though).

Maybe the device has an improper implementation causing the service detection to fail?

<edit to enumerate my guesses on the detection method>

Hi coderwolf,

Download Motorola ELITE FLIP Driver Utility.

This tool will download and update the correct Motorola ELITE FLIP driver versions automatically, protecting you against installing the wrong ELITE FLIP drivers.

That does not work as I am behind a proxy and I dont see a way to tell it that.

On top of that it uses the DriverDoc driver utility

<edit added DriverDoc info>

Can't you access the webpage?

Do you using proxy??

If yes, i will recommend to remove it.

Please download MiniToolBox, save it to your desktop and run it.
Checkmark the following checkboxes:

§  Flush DNS

§  Report IE Proxy Settings

§  Reset IE Proxy Settings

§  Report FF Proxy Settings

§  Reset FF Proxy Settings

§  Note: When using "Reset FF Proxy Settings" option Firefox should be closed.

I can access the webpage.. both with IE and FF...   The Proxy is not under my control.  removing the settings from IE and Firefox wont change the network, and I can not remove the computer from the network because it is a desktop box hardwired to the network.

This topic was moved between forums.  Due to this, I need to add the fact that this is on a Windows 7 machine

Hi coderwolf,

Do you  have drivers of device ? or Are you unable to download drivers manually? or You have driver but unable to install?

Is DriverDoc driver utility not working properly?

I was not able to find any drivers to download and install manually.  Therefore, I do not have a copy.  DriverDoc will not pass the company proxy we have internally.

I see.Only DriverDoc can install your driver which is not working for you.

I suggest  you to go get drivers from local Motorola shop.

I looked for drivers of that device and the only link i get is of DriverDoc.

You can contact to company by customer care for the drivers. or just post on their support forums https://forums.motorola.com/
