Hey qwertyer,

Welcome to BleepingComputer :) You did not mention a budget for the laptop so I'll give you couple of suggestions with different price ranges.

Dell Inspiron i3542-5000BK

Price - Around $400

Specs:

Core i3 processor.

4GB RAM.

500 GB Hard drive.

Windows 8.1

Lenovo G50

Price - Around $600

Specs:

Core i7 processor.

8GB RAM
1TB Hard drive.

Both of these machines are pretty good for the price you are getting them. Assuming it will not be used for heavy gaming or similar stuffs, these machines should do very fine. Multi tasking wouldn't be a problem either. Adding to that, if you are from the US, you might want to wait for the black friday and cyber monday offers. Good luck!

These two fits your budget and is worth taking a look at.
