5ghz fails when connecting

how can i fix 5ghz connection? I am using a 5ghz usb stick and when i try to connect to 5ghz it fails. 2.4ghz works perfect. its a netis WF2190 stick ac1200

I have tried different drivers and completely resetting everything. i also tried resetting netsh winsock. when i boot back to win 8.1 5ghz works perfectly

I have a hp envy 15t-j000 intel 4900mq

Is this in any way related to Windows 10 Operating System ??

 

It sounds more like Windows 8 or Hardware problems ................

Are you attempting to use your wifi adapter on Win 10? If so, I highly doubt you can make it work. There's a lot of drivers not working with Win 10 that works well with Win 8.1.

yes my WiFi adapter works on 8.1 perfectly, but fails to connect on the 5GHz band in windows 10. ya i am sure it will eventually be fixed in a new build or driver update.
