I've got to use it by 5:30 PM EST for my band gig and i need to print tabs, lyrics, and song order and now my printer isn't working. AND to make it even worse is that the public library closes at 3PM on Friday and its 2:53.

When i click add a new printer it says my spooler isn't running. Thats all for now unless you ask.

Do you have the software for the printer? If yes then un-install the printer and reboot the computer and then re-install the printer and reboot again. Give this a try and see how it goes. Sorry it seemed to take a while I just got here a bit ago.

I've seen this problem before. Try going to Start > Run and type in services.msc
Scroll down and look for "Print Spooler"
Right-click on it and click Properties
The Startup type should be set to "Automatic" and the Service status should be "Started"

If the service is either stopped or disabled, try enabling and starting it, and then restart your computer.

I get that error when i try to start it, and for people that can't read it it says

"Could not start the print spooler service on local computer."
Error 1068: The dependency service or group failed to start."

That message means that a service that depends upon (or that the spooler depands upon) isn't started.

In the case of my Print Spooler, it means that Remote Procedure Call (RPC) must be running. If you're attempting to use the Fax feature, the Fax service must also be running.

So, follow .Prodigy.'s advice, substituting Remote Procedure Call (RPC) and Fax for "Print Spooler" There are 2 RPC's - one is just the RPC and one is the Locator (use the plain RPC).

You solved it with the good description of the error message! Without that we'd still be stumbling around trying to figure it out! I'm glad that we could help!
