Linux advertisement? Is it one step closer to being Windows (paid)? If yes, then I already own Windows. And its games. And its modding community. So I doubt I'll be trying it.

Yes advertisement...

Not closer to Windows at all in the being paid sense. Well, no more than Android, or your smart TV, or your router, or Google, or most of the internet... or just about any device in your house that is not your Windows computer or Nokia phone.

If you are into gaming Linux probably isn't the best choice though, same as if you were into graphic design. Not enough commercial software companies have developed their products for Linux, yet.

I think he is a troll by his other post in the thread Which Distro Is Right For Me? post 382.

A/V Software? I don't need A/V software. I've run Linux since '98 w/o A/V software and have never had a virus. I never even had a firewall until '01 when I began to get routers with firewalls pre installed. With Linux if a vulnerability is detected a fix is quickly found and then upon your next update the vulnerability is patched.  If you must worry about viruses  on a Linux system only worry about them in the sense that you can infect a windows user. I recommend Linux Mint or, if you need a lighter weight operating system that fits on a cd, MX14 or AntiX.

oh that can be true..... there are many Microsoft-zombies in the world. I remember a computer teacher who back in 2004 was complaining about Pine email. I never even heard of Pine before that.

I guess so, if you studied your own private parts for many years and then wrote a thesis on them you would also be a doctor...
