Hi Everyone,

My USB2 webcam cannot work in Windows 8. Each time I try to open the webcam, my computer shuts down. Can anyone suggest a solution to this problem? Thanks.

Windows 8 still offers installing/running software under compatibility mode?

Uninstall all software and drivers for webcam.

Install software for webcam (only connect webcam when instructed to do so > or wait til software is fully installed).

After connecting webcam: Open software.

Or one could try an optional webcam program known to work with Windows 8.
