I have a friends computer that kept redirecting the browser. I ran Ccleaner and MBAM, it came back with 701 non malware items, Most of them were Mindspark, and MapsGalaxy among others which I removed. I read online to run adware cleaner and Rkill as well. I also changed the browser homepage settings. The browser issue is better, but now it is taking a really long time to boot into the desktop. couple blank screens before it will finally load. Any suggestions where to go from here?

No sorry I thought that my last post did not submit for some reason. I actually posted from my computer so I could read in case anything major happened to the other one. I will log in from the other computer and run the suggested steps.
