Microsoft has finally decided to make an installation disk readily available and here is how to get it.

You will have to add the key during the installation process. There should be a sticker on the case with the software key printed on it.

I used a magic marker to write the key on the DVD after burning it

Thanks dick . my question was that my system is already installed with genuine os (os) . I just wanted to know that whether the product key will get installed itself if I again load the os. I didn't get the key.

I didn't get the key.

Assuming you mean that you do not have the Key for your current installation you may want to have a look at this:

The Magical Jelly Bean Keyfinder is a freeware utility that retrieves your Product Key (cd key) used to install windows, from your registry.

It also has a community-updated configuration file that retrieves product keys for many other applications. Another feature is the ability

to retrieve product keys from unbootable Windows installations.

WIndows 8 computers no longer have a COA sticker. The serial is now imbedded in the BIOS.

http://www.cnet.com/news/windows-8-moves-to-bios-based-product-keys/

You can pull the key with a linux disk. If you cannot boot the computer

Otherwise  you can use any of the Windows keyfinders like produkey.

But, any downloaded Windows 8 iso's would not have the SLP certificate.  Best to backup the activation files (method 2) just in case.

The install cd should read the key from the bios. However, I woudln't trust it. Belarc Adivser will read the UEFI bios and give you the key.
