Need help restoring "Cannot find recovery environment" 8.1 error

I cant get a recovery disk because my warranty expired 4 months ago, and there is no product key on the side of my computer so I used a product key finder and the key it gives me doesnt work. Could someone please help me?

May I ask what brand and model your computer is? There might be some instructions on using the recovery partition that I could find for you. Unless, you built the computer yourself, then you'd need your installation disc and key, unless its changed since I last installed windows 8 on my computer.

Dell inspiron 660 win 8 (win 8.1 updated)

 

 

The product key is embedded in the BIOS in Windows 8.  You will need a program like RWEverything to retrieve it.
