Hello.  I have another open thread on another machine.  Unfortunately looks like my other machine is now infected with something too.

The newly infected machine is:

Windows Vista Home Premium

32-bit OS

It happened today, where my Microsoft Security Essentials was constantly fighting off constant trojan attacks.

I immediately disconnected the network connection, ran full scans using Microsoft Security Essentials, Spybot Search and Destroy, and Malwarebytes and found some scary items:

TrojanClicker:JS/Chroject.A

Behavior: Win32/Vawtrak.A

Ransom: Win32/Crowti

TrojanSpy: Win32/Ursnif

Trojan: Win32/Kovter.C

I proceeded to quarantine/clean all of them, rebooted, and everything seemed stable.  Then it happened again, and I received an error message "ISCT and IFFS Driver has stopped working."

My CPU is stuck at 100%, and I do not recognize a new process in the Task Manager "msiexec.exe" with a description "Ganzkorperbadaenzugen".

I seem to be infected with something pretty bad.  Please advise on next steps on how to proceed with cleaning/rescuing my PC from these attacks.

Thanks!

p22002970.gif Please download Rkill (courtesy of BleepingComputer.com) to your desktop.
There are 2 different versions. If one of them won't run then download and try to run the other one.
You only need to get one of these to run, not all of them. You may get warnings from your antivirus about this tool, ignore them or shutdown your antivirus.

rKill.exe: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/rkill/dl/10/
iExplore.exe (renamed rKill.exe): http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/rkill/dl/11/

  • Double-click on the Rkill desktop icon to run the tool.
  • If using Vista or Windows 7 right-click on it and choose Run As Administrator.
  • A black DOS box will briefly flash and then disappear. This is normal and indicates the tool ran successfully.
  • If not, delete the file, then download and use the one provided in Link 2.
  • Do not reboot until instructed.
  • If the tool does not run from any of the links provided, please let me know.

If normal mode still doesn't work, run the tool from safe mode.

When the scan is done Notepad will open with rKill log.
Post it in your next reply.

NOTE. rKill.txt log will also be present on your desktop.

NOTE Do NOT wrap your logs in "quote" or "code" brackets.
Do NOT use spoilers.
Do NOT edit your reply to post additional logs. Create new reply. I'll not get any email notifications about edits so I won't know you posted something new.

You're very seriously infected and your computer will require elevated help.

Please follow the instructions in THIS GUIDE starting at Step 6. If you cannot complete a step, skip it and continue.

Once the proper logs are created, then make a NEW TOPIC and post it HERE. Please include a description of your computer issues, what you have done to resolve them, and a link to this topic.

If you can produce at least some of the logs, then please create the new topic and explain what happens when you try to create the log(s) that you couldn't get. If you cannot produce any of the logs, then still post the topic and explain that you followed the Prep. Guide, were unable to create the logs, and describe what happens when you try to create the logs.

It would be helpful if you post a note here once you have completed the steps in the guide and have started your topic in malware removal. Good luck and be patient.

Hey BC Advisor, I too have the same problem, I'm frequently under attack by various Trojan viruses like ND_Fan, I first noticed it at the beginning of November. I had a plethora of dllhost.exe running and trying to access the internet, I noticed because my comodo firewall kept on requesting that I deny or let it access the internet, I'm no pc guru or anything of the sort, but I know dllhost does not need access to the internet, so I blocked it with the firewall. After, I ran malware bytes and was alarmed by how many Trojan viruses had been found. Thinking it was over I restarted and that was that, but now I've noticed that my Windows Security Essentials had been cleaning viruses quite frequently since then, Trojan's such as:

11/12

Trojan: Win32/Chroject.D!dll x3

11/10

Trojan: Win32/Powessere.A!reg

11/05

VirTool: Win32/CeeInject.gen!KK

TrojanDownloader: Win32/Zemot.E x2

11/03

TrojanDownloader: Win32/Waledac.AJ

PWS: Win32/Zbot.gen!VM

Backdoor: Win32/Simda.AT

Trojan: Win32/Peaac.gen!A!plock

Exploit: JS/Fiexp.C

Exploit: JS/Angore.E

I ran Windows Defender Offline Scanner but nothing turned up, I'm guessing that this sort of infection is quite recent as I've seen similar posts on other sites requesting help as well, all within the timeframe of the last 20 or so days. At one point I do remember seeing "msiexec.exe" within one of the logs of mbam, trouble is I don't ever remember downloading anything suspicious within the last 20 days, I believe I was infected through a website advertisement. Should I just follow the steps you laid out for ND_Fan and post the logs here?

I am running windows 7 64 bit

Also would you like to see the scan log from malwarebytes the first day I was infected on 11/3? since then Malwarebytes has not been able to detect anything else, only Microsoft Security Essentials has been frequently cleaning what it detects through real-time protection.

Hi Broni -

I followed your instructions and posted a new request with my logs to the Virus, Trojan, Spyware, and Malware Removal Logs forum.

http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/t/555792/multiple-serious-infections-referral-from-am-i-infected-forum/?hl=%2Bnd_fan

I'm ready for the next step.

Thanks,

ND_Fan
