Just got an older model computer from my wifes work.  It's an HP DX2200.  I know - not the best and it's an older model...

I have a brand new DELL keyboard and wired mouse hooked up to it.  When I use the mouse wheel there is a lag between when I spin the wheel and when the page scrolls.  Happens on both Firefox and Chrome. It's not like it's seconds or anything but it is enough of a lag to be annoying.  Do I need some sort of drivers for this mouse to make it work more efficiently or could it be just that the computer responds slowly becuase it's an older/slower model.

Maybe you are spinning the wheel before the page has loaded completely?  Or maybe something else is running in the background?
