Hello. When I run the autoruns program and look through everything I notice that some DLL or files are not found.

Display panning CPL extension File not Found deskpan.dll
Hyper Terminal Icon Ext File not Found CLSID
SmartFTP Shell Extension DLL File not Found CLISD
intelppm File not Found system32\drivers\intelppm.sys
Pcouffin File not Found system32\drivers\Pcouffin.sys
szkg File not Found system32\drivers\szkg.sys
SsiEfr.e File not Found: SsiEfr.e

I just want to know what these are for and if they're important to have. If they're not important then can I uncheck them in autoruns to get rid of their entries? I do know that the SsiEfr.e is for SpySweeper but I don't know why its extension is .e and not .exe. If anyone could let me know I'd appriciate it.

Thank You

From what I know of the items on your list - none of them are essential. But some may be helpful to you.

But, since they're missing (and you didn't say you missed anything on your system), I'd suggest just leaving them as is.

FWIW - the one's in your System32 subdirectory aren't familiar to me, but the names suggest spyware to me. Did you remove some spyware from your system?

The SpySweeper entry appears to be truncated. This could be an accident (and restoring the extention to exe could fix it) - but it could also be the result of spyware/viruses.

So, I'd suggest that you perform a free, online scan of your system (requires IE) at: http://housecall.trendmicro.com/
My browser caused a flood of traffic, sio my IP address was banned. Hope to fix it soon. Will get back to posting as soon as Im able.

I'll do the online scan and see what happens thanks for the reply. Both of you.
