"windows did not detect a properly installed network adapter. if you have an adapter you will need to re-install the driver"

"ethernet controller doesn't have a driver"

I recently bought a dell 380 and can't get it to connect to the internet. (I am using a hard wired connection that works fine with my other pcs)

I have re-installed windows 7 but this hasn't helped. I still get the above messages.

I have tried the "NetAdapter Repair All In One" but I don't have the .NET Framework 4.0.

I may have got a code 28 error at some point (I've been working on this a while) and I can remember at some point extracting this info from the pc

PCI\VEN_14E4&DEV_1692&SUBSYS_04001028&REV_01\4&2696CBC&0&00E0

which was supposed to help me find a driver.

At this point I wonder if there is a physical problem.

I would be grateful for any advice.

Thanks.

Hello, and Welcome

You didn't say if you have 32bit or 64bit. Try this driver for 64bit.
