How can i deal with "Non-system disk or disk error" error message. (Compaq 610)

This can be caused by a few things...

 

Do you have a USB or optical disk inserted? Is the boot sequence set for these before the HDD? remove all media and reboot.

 

Is the HDD detected in the BIOS? if not the HDD has failed.

 

It's "possible" that this error can be caused by HDD data corruption also, but please check the other 2 most likely causes first.
