Hi,

I have a Windows 7 Ultimate PC and I'm trying to scan a document using a Canon CanoScan 4400F and CanoScan Toolbox. I've tried restarting the scanner, restarting the computer, switch between locked and unlocked on the bottom and switching USB ports, but I can't get it to work. I get various errors. Here they are:

"Cannot communicate with scanner.
Cable may be disconnected or scanner may be turned off.
Check status.
Scanner driver will be closed."

"Unable to open TWAIN source
Please check connection
Then re-start Toolbox"

"Release the lock switch, detach the I/F cable and reconnect.
Scanner driver will be closed."

"Cannot communicate with scanner.
Cable may be disconnected or scanner may be turned off.
Check status.
Scanner driver will be closed.
Code: 2,155,0"

Please can someone tell me how to get the scanner working?

Thanks,
Joe

Sounds like it could be a physical hardware error. Have you tried the scanner on a different computer?

I tried it on a different computer and it worked fine. I've just tried reinstalling it on my computer and I'm having the same problems as before.

See if Vuescan works for you.  It is relatively cheap.
