Just installed a new computer - HP Pavilion 500-C60 Desktop - to replace a Dell Vostro 420 Desktop. At the same time I upgraded: (a) Windows Vista Business 32 to Windows 8.1 64, ( Microsoft Office from 2003 to 2013. This is 365 Personal version that includes: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote and Outlook.
All this was prompted by a hard drive that crashed on the 420 - no survivors. I had everything backed up online to Carbonite but have yet to do a full restore. Do hope it works! <gasp >.
Currently floundering about where everything seems to be new and different! Clearly I need some guidance from those who have "been there" - best third party books - guides - just plain sound advice, etc.
